55 Year Reunion

It was wonderful to have had such a great turnout for our 55 year reunion event on June 2, 2024 at the Duke of York Pub in Yorkville . We had 19 attendees. Many thanks to Marie for arranging such fine weather and Bob Craig for making the reservations at the Duke of York.

Please mark your calendars for June 2, 2029 for our 60 year reunion.

In addition, we had a surprise guest show up. It was none other than Holly from Detroit. She recognized Martin in the crowd and asked him about others from the class. Martin however was as discreet as ever and mentioned something about privacy, security and class-incrimination. No further identities were revealed.

Also, Bob Craig revealed a much better class photo from Detroit that does deserve re-publishing. Do you recognize everyone?  For more pictures from Detroit, check BLOG date June 2014.

Hope to see you all again on June 2, 2029.

Walter Tuyrlo

Classmates, I am sorry to pass on the late news concerning Walter Tuyrlo.

Obituary

On February 1st, 2022, Walter Maurice Turylo, the son of Ukrainian immigrants, passed away peacefully aged 90 at Lakeside Long Term Care in Toronto.

He grew up in the west end of Toronto, attending Bloor C. I. After working on the Avro Arrow, a transforming experience in his life, he graduated from the University of Toronto in 1969 as a mechanical engineer and worked for many years at Ontario Hydro.

He was predeceased by his wife Julie of 53 years, his sister Doreen and his brother-in-law Jerry.  He is survived by his sister June, brother-in-law John, sister-in law Anne (Rob), son Peter (Teresa), daughter Cathy (Valdis) and grandchildren Paul and Kristina (Michael). A devout Catholic and fine athlete, in later years he developed a love of golf and travel to warm climates.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Many thanks to Lakeside staff and his additional caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
