Horst Albert Benoit
May 26, 1942 - July 29, 2021
It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce that Horst Albert Benoit,
after a valiant battle with Cancer, passed away peacefully Thursday the 29th of
July 2021, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years; Barbara, his children Horst Jr. (Catherine) and Barb (Jef), his grandchildren: Gregory (Alexandra), Chell and Evelyn, his sisters Doris, Cristl and Elizabeth, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives.
Horst had wanted to convey the following message to those who he was close to in life: “ To all the people who have enriched my life, I’d like to send my love and affection. Please accept my best wishes... and goodbye.”
Horst and Barbara were wed in Germany in 1963 and emigrated to Canada in 1964. In 1965 their first Child; Horst Jr, was born. In 1969 Horst graduated with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. His daughter; Barb, was born in 1970. Horst, in 1983, again graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree.
After a successful career in engineering he and Barbara ran private businesses which allowed the two of them the freedom to make many happy memories with friends and family in Mississauga, Muskoka and Key Largo. Three years ago they combined their household with Horst Jr, Catherine and the grandchildren in a new home in Ajax.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara would appreciate a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
